TREE PLANTING ON THE STAMFORD MEADOWS
Our Youth Councillors and Green Team members had an amazing time planting, amongst others, yew hedging and willow trees on the Meadows last week. The planting was arranged by the Stamford Town Council as a result of a request from the Youth Council to improve the Meadows and plant more trees. They were also the very first people to see and use the brass rubbing plaques which have been erected on the Meadows by the East Mercia Rivers Trust. They depict the wildlife which can be seen by the river and include ducks, kingfishers, water voles and otters. The local press and radio were there to interview the children and take photos. The children behaved impeccably and worked so hard. #prideandjoy #engageandinspire #nurtureandgrowth
